Educational Needs Regarding Mental Health of Professionals Working with Young Adults with Cancer: A European Survey

Young adults with cancer face a higher risk of mental health challenges, but many healthcare professionals (HCPs) may not be fully equipped to support them. Our recent European study of 271 HCPs from 21 countries found that while half felt confident screening for mental health issues, only 10% used validated tools. Most want more training to recognize early signs and use proper screening methods. These findings highlight an important opportunity: investing in targeted education for HCPs can make a real difference in improving mental health and well-being for young adults with cancer.
